As we enter the holidays, Artsmiths staff will be stretched to its limit. We are a small, part-time staff trying to do many great things. The following opportunities are coming up. If any of them interest you, please fill out our volunteer questionnaire at Volunteer Questionnaire
Our customers often need help in the shop to find things or our staff needs help during busy times. We will be offering 1-2 hr. training sessions for volunteers to learn aboutthe artists we represent and the products they make. After training , we are looking for volunteers to work in our shop during busy times to help our customers. References are required for this opportunity.
We need volunteers to cut and wrap yarn or cord for our kits. This can be done at home and you will have plenty of time to complete the work. Average time is 1-2 hours. Perfect for teens or a TV watching project. Just sign up and we will contact you when we have an assembly project for you to pick up.
We are always looking for donations of certainmaterials for our art kits and projects. For this holiday season we need yarn!We will be selling weaving kits to raise money for future free kits. If you have any first quality yarn around the house or see a great sale, feel free to drop it off! Gift cards to Michaels, Jo-Anns, Walmart or Amazon also welcome!
Thank you for visiting our site to learn about volunteer opportunities with us! We are a 501c3 nonprofit education organization dedicated to promoting equity in the arts. In order to accomplish this we are engaged in the following:
We operate a shop in Carnegie where we work with a wide range of local artists to showcase and sell handmade things.
We make art kits and projects for at-risk youth and collaborate with others to distribute them around the city.
Our in person classes have restarted! When they are back to full capacity we plan to have volunteers help with large classes.
We operate an online shop to allow people who don’t live in Pittsburgh to support us.
We create art kits that are sold to fund additional free kits.
We work with other organizations in Carnegie on events, public art and anything we can to improve the neighborhood we call home.
We are always seeking volunteers to assist us with the following:
Assisting customers in the shop
Putting together art kits.
Assisting in our classes and camps.
Working at outreach events.
